Add links, bookmarks and editorial review
Prepare navigation and review information for digital documents.
Applies to Design 0.8.0 on doc.et.
Make exported documents easier to navigate#
Hyperlinks can point to a web address, email address or document page. Select the relevant text or frame before creating the link, then use the hyperlink controls to inspect or edit the destination. Bookmarks provide a separate navigation outline for PDF readers. They are particularly useful when a long document contains sections that readers will revisit.
Interactive PDF export includes options for buttons, forms and transitions. The viewer ultimately determines how these features behave, so test the exported file in the application your readers will use. A feature stored in the document does not guarantee that every browser PDF viewer implements it.
- Select the text or object that should act as a link.
- Create a hyperlink and check its destination.
- Add bookmarks for major sections, export the PDF and test navigation.
Review and alternate content#
Notes and tracked changes provide editorial context within a document. Changes can be accepted or rejected rather than silently becoming final text. Conditional text supports controlling the visibility of designated content. These features are document editing tools, not an online shared-review service. Save the native file to preserve your working material, and inspect the exported result to ensure that only the intended content is visible.
