Questions, answered

Good to know.

Do I need to install anything or create an account?

No account or installation is required to open the editors. Use a modern browser with WebAssembly support. A desktop or laptop with a keyboard and mouse provides the most practical editing workspace.

How do I save my work?

Use the editor’s Save or Save As command and keep the downloaded file. Export creates a file for sharing; it may not preserve everything needed for future editing. Do not rely on a browser tab as your only copy. Save before closing, reloading, or switching editors.

Can I type in Amharic?

Yes. The editors include Amharic interface controls, a phonetic Ethiopic keyboard, and an on-screen keyboard. In Amharic typing mode, enter selam followed by Space to write ሰላም. Use Ctrl+Alt+E to switch typing modes. Interface language and typing mode are separate controls.

Do my files or typed content leave my device?

Your documents, images, spreadsheet values and typed text are processed locally in your browser, without uploading them to our servers for editing. Amharic input also runs on your device. Save or export keeps a file on your device. Loading pages, fonts and application assets still makes normal website requests; see the privacy page for details.

Does this have every feature of the desktop Craft apps?

No. These guides describe the pinned browser editions. Desktop services, filesystem workflows, and some media functions may be unavailable. Each editor’s overview lists browser limitations and file-format notes.

Word

Can I edit a Word document in my browser?

Yes. Open a supported DOCX file, edit it and save an editable copy. Preserve the original when the document has complex layout or objects.

Does Word save automatically?

The browser shell disables desktop autosave. Save and verify a downloaded copy before closing or reloading.

Can I export my document as PDF?

Yes. Export PDF for a paginated copy and review its pages before sharing.

Can I review edits and leave comments?

Yes. Comments and supported tracked changes are available. Exchange saved files; simultaneous co-authoring is not provided.

Can I create personalised letters?

Yes. Mail merge accepts supported recipient files, offers record previews and creates merged documents. It does not send email merges.

Does every language have spelling checks?

No. Text entry and display cover more languages than the available proofing dictionaries.

Sheets

Can I open Excel workbooks online?

Yes. Open supported XLSX workbooks and save an XLSX copy from the browser. Verify complex imported formulas and charts.

Can I use formulas and PivotTables?

Yes. Formula editing, many function families, PivotTables and PivotCharts are implemented, with compatibility limits.

Can I save a CSV from the browser?

The ordinary browser Save As flow downloads XLSX. CSV capabilities in the underlying engine do not imply a CSV option in that browser flow.

Can I run Excel macros?

No. VBA does not execute. Do not use browser XLSX output as a way to preserve a macro-enabled original.

Does a PivotTable refresh automatically after every source change?

Review the selected source and refresh the report after changing data. New rows outside the source may not be included.

Can I print a spreadsheet?

Yes. Use browser printing or PDF export and inspect the page layout. Verify non-Latin text carefully in PDF output.

Slides

Can I edit a PowerPoint presentation online?

Deck opens PPTX files in the browser and exports PPTX. Review complex layouts, fonts, charts, media and animation after import or export; full fidelity is not guaranteed.

Where does Save put my presentation?

Save downloads an editable file through your browser. It does not overwrite the source file on your device. Keep the download before closing or refreshing the editor.

Can I print slides from the browser?

The Print action downloads a PDF. Open it in a PDF viewer and use that viewer’s print dialog.

Does presentation audio work in the browser?

This build can embed audio and store playback settings, but the web media host does not supply audio output. Playback can advance silently.

Can I add speaker notes and comments?

Yes. Notes support preparation and notes views; comments support replies and resolved threads. These document features do not imply live collaboration.

Can I download every slide as an image?

The shipped browser export branch renders the active slide as PNG or JPEG. Use PDF for a complete static deck, or export slides individually.

Design

Can Design open InDesign files?

The browser opens IDML exchange packages and native .designcraft files. It does not advertise INDD support. Ask for an IDML file and review import warnings and page appearance.

Can I link text frames across pages?

Yes. Manual threading lets one story continue through multiple frames. Check for overset text; automatic page flow has known limitations in this version.

Does Save update the original file?

No. Browser Save downloads an editable native file. Keep that download before closing or refreshing the page.

Can I export a print PDF?

Yes. PDF export includes supported production options such as marks and bleed. Run preflight and inspect the downloaded PDF against your printer’s requirements.

Can I make an EPUB or HTML file?

Yes. Reflowable EPUB, fixed-layout EPUB and HTML exports exist. Fixed-layout EPUB uses page images, while HTML export is a basic self-contained page.

Does the browser support data merge and packaging?

The underlying application has these commands, but data-source file selection and folder packaging rely on desktop filesystem services missing from the browser shell. They are not supported browser workflows in this guide.

Why is text missing from the page?

It may be overset: the story contains more text than its frames can display. Run preflight, enlarge the frame or continue the story into another frame. Check fonts as well, because substitution can change line breaks.
