Editing happens in your browser
These static browser editions load their application code, fonts, and interface assets from the website. Documents, images, spreadsheet values, slide text and everything you type are processed by the application locally in your browser. The editors do not upload that content to our servers for editing. Amharic transliteration runs locally too. Saving and exporting keep files on your device, usually through browser downloads. This deployment does not include a cloud file storage account or a document collaboration backend.
Website requests still happen
Loading a page or an editor makes requests to the hosting provider, Cloudflare. Normal request information, such as IP address and browser information, is involved in delivering the site. “Local editing” does not mean visiting the website is network-free.
Documentation search stays local
The documentation downloads a search index from this site and searches it in your browser. Your search terms are not sent to a search server.
Preferences on this device
The language and keyboard controls use browser storage to remember preferences. Clearing site data can reset these choices. A remembered preference is not a backup of a document.
Keep a saved copy
Use Save or Save As regularly and check your downloads. Keep an editable original as well as any exported version you share. Reloading, closing the tab, switching editors, or clearing browser data can lose unsaved work. Do not rely on autosave or browser recovery as your only copy.
External links
Links to source projects and other websites leave this site. Those sites have their own hosting and privacy practices. If you choose to share a saved file, upload it elsewhere, or save into a folder synced by your device, that action follows the privacy settings of the service you choose.
