Present data with tables and charts
Create tabular content and charts directly on presentation slides.
Applies to Deck 0.7.0 on doc.et.
Choose the right data object#
Insert a table when exact values and their labels need to remain visible together. Choose its starting rows and columns, then edit the cells and use the contextual table controls for layout and appearance. The table is part of the slide, so its available space determines how much information is practical to show.
Insert a chart when the pattern is more useful than a full grid of numbers. Chart commands support categories and named series, and the contextual Chart Design controls include chart type and data editing. Supported chart families include column, bar, line, pie, doughnut, area and scatter, with additional variants in the chart type choices.
- Select the destination slide and insert a table or chart.
- Replace the sample content with your own labels and values.
- Set the appearance, then check that labels and numbers remain legible in the slide show.
Refine the result#
Chart elements include a title, legend, data labels and gridlines. Use only the elements that help explain the intended comparison. For tables, review row and column sizes, cell alignment and the distinction between headings and body values. Imported charts may not reproduce every chart type or option from another application; keep the original file and inspect exported slides before sharing.
