Review, comments and tracked changes

Review edits deliberately and leave clear feedback on a document.

Applies to Word 0.7.0 on doc.et.

What you can do#

Track Changes records supported edits so another review pass can inspect them. Use the review display options and reviewing pane to see recorded changes, then accept or reject individual changes or the complete set. Comments add feedback without replacing the underlying text.

Tracked changes include text edits and supported formatting revisions. Imported revisions can carry information that the editor preserves without recreating every equivalent change itself. For collaborative work, exchange saved copies and agree on which copy is current; this browser editor does not provide simultaneous co-authoring.

Try it#

Proofing is language-dependent and does not cover every language that can be typed or displayed. Text without a suitable dictionary may remain unmarked. A clean proofing panel is therefore not evidence that all text is correct. Manually review names, terminology and unsupported languages before publishing.

  1. Save a working copy before starting review.
  2. Turn on Review → Track Changes before editing.
  3. Select relevant text and insert a comment.
  4. Navigate the changes, accept or reject them, and save the reviewed copy.
